About Me

I am a game designer and 2012 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a Master's degree in Entertainment Technology. I graduated from The College of New Jersey in May 2010 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Interactive Multimedia.

My academic experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels has consisted largely of project-based coursework in a team setting. My role as a designer these past six years has encompassed level design, meta-game structure, gameplay engineering, and interface design, as well as project management. I also enjoy and am proficient at composing game music, sound design, constructing game narratives, and compiling comprehensive written documentation. My passion has always been the construction of rich, explorable virtual worlds and experiences, and I feel this blend of skills allows me to shape these creations in unique ways.

I have had the opportunity to develop for a variety of platforms and media, including the iPad, Android phone, Web, and even mixed-reality experiences. Each of these endeavors has allowed me to broaden my design horizons, guiding my efforts to utilize the particular strengths of different platforms. I also have been fortunate enough to work on game projects with vastly differing goals, ranging from the development of a compelling game mechanic for a touch-screen device, to the construction of a meta-game and rewards structure that can motivate players towards a certain end, such as maintaining a healthy lifestyle, or acting with generosity towards others.

Currently, I reside in New Jersey. In my spare time, I enjoy creative writing, composing electronic music, running, and baseball. I also am studying to attain a CAPM certification in project management.

I look forward to continuing to work on projects where my background can be of use to creating something really cool for others to experience. I have always gotten a thrill out of designing imaginary worlds, and it is indescribably gratifying to have the opportunity to render those visions concrete. My main goal in anything I work on is to use whatever means I can - images, words, sounds - to construct a place to explore and feel something new and exciting.
